Rush joining Next-Gen Truck Freight Transport Summit

Steve Rush, the president of Carbon Express, is expected to speak Oct. 25 at the Moving America Forward: Next-Gen Truck Freight Transport Summit.

Former National Tank Truck Carriers Chairman Steve Rush, the president of Carbon Express, is expected to speak Oct. 25 at the Moving America Forward: Next-Gen Truck Freight Transport Summit.

The two-day summit features experts presenting and discussing the challenges and opportunities new technologies are creating in the trucking industry. Raymond P. Martinez, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, will appear as a keynote speaker, as will Leslie Richards, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The Engineering School at the University of Pennsylvania will host the summit on its campus Oct. 24 and 25.

Rush is scheduled to participate in the session on automation, vehicle connectivity and platooning. The panel will discuss the implementation and commercial potential of automation and platooning technologies, current issues and potential for the future.

Panel chairs Jeff Hickman of Virginia Tech and Steve Boyd, co-founder of Peloton Technologies, and fellow panelist Alden Woodrow, former product lead for self-driving trucks at Uber, are expected to join Rush.
