H.O. Bouchard, a Northeastern transportation and maintenance provider, recently acquired Gould Equipment in Bangor, Maine, through Bouchard Services, a newly formed subsidiary of H.O. Bouchard.
Gould’s tank truck services include propane and petroleum truck and parts sales, tank welding repairs and changeovers, subframe repairs and replacements, and VIK and DEP inspections.
“We’re excited to officially welcome Gould’s legacy of quality and expertise into the H.O. Bouchard family,” the company stated in a LinkedIn post. “Together, we’re ready to become your one-stop destination for truck building, tank service, fleet maintenance, inspections, and repairs.”
Jeff Bouchard, H.O. Bouchard president, called the pickup an important step in strengthening the company’s capabilities and services, allowing the firm to offer a wider range of “equipment, resources, and expertise,” according to a local report. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
H.O. Bouchard began as a dump truck operation in 1958. Nine years later, founder Harold Bouchard purchased 13 acres of land in Hampden, Maine, where he opened a small repair shop. The company’s headquarters remain in Hampden today, but Bouchard also maintains a secondary shop in Eliot and runs 80 trucks and 200 tank trailers serving energy and industrial materials markets.
Ralph Gould started Gould Equipment in 1928. The company today employs 10 people.
Tom Schwarm, Gould president, is expected to retire following the acquisition, and general manager Ryan Scanlon is expected to lead the operation.
