Motorcity Systems’ Torque platform, Relay driver app help Iowa-based bulk carrier integrate fuel-specific workflows, improve efficiency

Iowa-based fuel hauler Solar Transport recently selected Motorcity Systems’ Torque integration platform and Relay real-time driver communications and visibility app to improve operational efficiency and the driver experience.

Torque is a flexible, cloud-based platform that enables carriers to connect and scale their business systems as they grow. With Torque, Solar integrated its data and workflows between its transportation management system (TMS), electronic logging device (ELF) telematics, and Relay dispatch-driver messaging application.

“We began looking for a solution to help us deliver better information to fleet managers and drivers in a faster and more effective way,” explained Jason Jones, Solar’s director of technology and business solutions. “For example, we wanted to make our customer site maps easily accessible by drivers to assist with pickups and deliveries.

“In Motorcity, we found a partner who could quickly bring our data together from different systems, and make it move seamlessly to where it needs to be, when we need it.”

As part of the Torque deployment, Solar driver’s hours-of-service duty status and vehicle telematics data from Samsara were integrated with the Relay app, giving dispatchers better visibility of mission-critical operational, safety, and compliance information, Motorcity said.

“We are extremely proud to announce Solar Transport as a new customer on our TORQUE platform,” said Bob Stemple, co-founder and president of Motorcity. “We look forward to bringing our solutions to other leading transportation and logistics providers who specialize in fuel delivery.”
