Ludington MI-based Quick-Way, Inc. is celebrating its 30th year in business this year.

The non-hazardous liquid chemical transporter planned to celebrate three decades of best-in-class service and safety excellence Saturday, May 8.

“It has been challenging, fulfilling, and enjoyable,” William “Bill” Dunn said of the last 30 years. “Thank you to all of those who helped make this business successful—the employees, the customers and my family.”

Trucking is in Dunn’s blood. His father was a driver, and his parents also owned a bulk tanker trucking company in Saginaw MI. Dunn grew up “talking shop” at the dinner table, and spending days at the trucking terminal, and he started driving professionally at a young age.

In December 1991, Quick-Way commenced operations with the first shipment hauled for Dow Chemical Company, an original supporting shipper. Dunn grew the company from there, adding his first employees in 1994. Two of those employees still are with the company today.

Mike Tyndall has been a Quick-Way driver for 27 of its 30 years in business. He said he views the entire Quick-Way team as a talented group of individuals who pull together to get jobs done. “It is kind of funny that people will ask me when I am going to retire, and I am thinking, why?” Tyndall said. “Maybe slow down a little, but it’s great to have a job that you look forward to doing every day. Plus, you get great pay and benefits.”

Quick-Way started in a small rental facility and has grown to its current location on Conrad Industrial Drive in Ludington. The building has seen three major expansions and includes two tank wash bays, two maintenance bays and a full suite of administrative offices. The company has 39 employees. With safety and integrity at its core values, Quick-Way continues to be a preferred carrier for customers who need non-hazardous bulk liquid products hauled throughout the Midwest.

The company has drivers working from several locations, including Ludington and Midland MI, Kankakee and Lansing IL, and Jeffersonville IN, and is actively hiring in the Toledo OH area.

“As the company looks back at major milestones over the years, not least of which is its Responsible Care Certification in 2019, it also looks to the future, as Bill and the team set even more challenging goals, milestones and service initiatives,” Quick-Way said. “Our continuous improvement culture is key to our success over the last three decades—a necessary factor for success in an industry as tumultuous and competitive as trucking.”
