Lytx eliminates blind spots with new camera hub

Lytx recently introduced the Lytx 360 Hub Kit, a next-generation hub and auxiliary camera solution designed to give fleets broader visibility across their vehicles, assets, and operations.
Purpose-built to extend visibility around the vehicle, the 360 Hub Kit integrates up to four HD auxiliary camera views (expandable to eight) across the sides, rear, cargo area, and blind zones of a vehicle, helping fleets eliminate operational blind spots and capture a more complete picture of what is happening around their vehicles and worksites, the company reported.
“Fleet operators need more than a forward-facing view of the road, they need visibility into every angle of their operations,” Lytx CEO Chris Cabrera said in a news release. “The Lytx 360 Hub Kit is an important step toward that vision, giving customers a clearer, more connected view of vehicles, drivers, assets, and worksites. By combining HD video, cloud-based access, and AI-ready hardware, we’re helping fleets improve safety, reduce risk, protect their people, and operate with greater confidence.”
Key capabilities of the Lytx 360 Hub Kit include:
- Multi-angle HD visibility: Supports up to four (expandable to eight) auxiliary camera views across side, rear, cargo, and blind-zone perspectives to capture critical operational context.
- AI-ready foundation: Built on AI-capable hardware and designed to support future auxiliary camera intelligence and advanced driver-assistance capabilities.
- Unified cloud experience: Surfaces auxiliary footage in Lytx Video Search and synchronizes it with DriveCam footage, giving teams one vehicle timeline and one portal for review.
- On-demand video access: Enables teams to request clips from available time windows and upload footage over LTE, supporting faster investigations without unnecessary truck rolls.
- Operational protection: Helps fleets support liability defense, worksite visibility, theft deterrence, service verification, low-speed incident review, and insurance evidence collection.
Upcoming 360-degree visibility features
Lytx said it’s also advancing a “broader roadmap” for 360-degree visibility across mobile and fixed operations. Upcoming capabilities are expected to include on-demand multi-cam playback in events, bringing multiple camera views together in a single synchronized review experience so safety teams can investigate incidents with greater context and without switching between separate video streams.
The plan also includes side and rear blind spot alerts designed to enhance driver awareness in high-traffic and complex driving environments, as well as side and rear blind spot events that add more visibility for coaching and investigations. In addition, Lytx aims to expand its platform beyond vehicles with fixed-site cameras for yards, job sites, and facilities, along with a stand-alone smart camera designed to deliver real-time visibility and cloud-connected insights from device to dashboard.
Expected availability
The Lytx 360 Hub Kit is available now. Additional 360-degree visibility features are planned for future releases, including:
- Fall 2026: 360 Hub Kit HD auxiliary cameras and monitor enhancements; on-demand multi-cam playback in Lytx Video Search (LVS).
- Winter 2026: Side and rear pedestrian, object, and blind spot detection; auxiliary camera lens obstruction detection.
- Spring 2027: Fixed-site camera support, stand-alone single module smart camera, and side and rear blind spot events.
