American PetroLog and partners are jointly developing a multi-commodity transload facility in Brooklyn NY.

American PetroLog, New York-New Jersey Rail, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey are jointly developing a multi-commodity transload facility in Brooklyn NY, that is scheduled to be fully operational in early 2020.

Their site is located at the 65th Street Railyard, within the Brooklyn Army Terminal, has direct Class 1 access to both the CSX and Norfolk Southern railroads.

Jeff Colonna, American PetroLog’s president and chief executive officer, said: “Partnering with Don Hutton and the NYNJR is proving to be a joining of forces that brings a new service offering to the market that has been forced to deal with system inefficiencies for decades. By utilizing the NYNJR and their rail-float capabilities and American PetroLog’s transloading services, our customers significantly benefit from avoiding the time and cost associated with the longer and circuitous rail route. The rail cars are barged across the Upper Bay from New Jersey to Brooklyn, NY many times a day, and cars are placed for transloading in a matter of hours.”

American PetroLog’s initial transload customers are bringing diesel emission fluid (DEF) and biofuels into their Brooklyn facility.
