Texas Tank Works opens tank wash rack in West Texas for chemicals, hazmat

Texas Tank Works opened a new full-service tank wash facility in late 2017 to serve chemical haulers. The wash rack offers interior and exterior washes on tank trailers, ISO tank containers, roll off boxes, frac tanks, hoses, pumps, etc.

Located in Colorado City TX, the wash rack cleans a wide variety of materials to include hazardous, polymers, and gels. The facility offers detergent washes, caustic washes, steam/flush, diesel rinses, polymers, and gel washes.

The operation is located off I-20 at exit 212. The address is: 200 S FM 1229, Colorado City TX 79512. Normal hours are 7am to 5pm, Mon-Fri and appointments after hours. Call and let us know you are coming!

Texas Tank Works is equipped with a 60-horsepower Superior Mohawk boiler with a steam output of 2,070pph saturated steam. A vat system for tank cleaning includes a stainless steel hot water tank, a stainless steel detergent tank, and a stainless steel cold water tank. High volume, high pressure, steam, water, and detergent are delivered to the different bays through 40-horsepower high volume pumps and a Gama Jet 8 spinner rated at 200psi/100gpm.

The wash facility includes a large secured yard with plenty of room to store tankers. We offer our customers a drop and swap program. You can leave a tanker onsite so there is always a clean one waiting as you drop your dirty (no wait time). The customer company will be issued a unique gate code to access tank trailers even after hours.

Customer features include a driver’s lounge with free snacks, coffee, water, microwave, and clean restrooms. Texas Tank Works also offers drivers a loyalty program--after 10 washes drivers get a $50 visa gift card.
