G&D Trucking/Hoffman Transportation is still one of the safest tank truck carriers on the road.
The Channahon, Illinois-based bulk hauler recently earned the Illinois Trucking Association’s Large Carrier of the Year award, which it collected during ITA’s 2026 Annual Meeting in Bloomington—adding a major state-level accolade to G&D/Hoffman’s extensive list of national safety honors.
“Being named the Illinois Trucking Association’s Large Carrier of the Year is more than an award, it represents the commitment, discipline, and professionalism demonstrated by our entire team every day,” Jerry Curl, G&D/Hoffman’s chief operating officer, stated in a LinkedIn post.
“Safety is not simply a policy, it is a responsibility, a culture, and a promise we make to our employees, families, customers, and communities.”
The ITA recognition is the latest addition to the carrier’s long-running safety record.
In 2024, G&D/Hoffman won National Tank Truck Carriers’ North American Safety Championship for the third time, adding its 2023 safety performance to award-winning results from 2017 and 2019.
The ITA award also follows shortly after company driver Bruce Jones claimed the prestigious William A. Usher Sr. Trophy as the 2025-26 NTTC Professional Tank Truck Driver of the Year at the association’s annual conference in Tampa, Florida. Jones’ victory makes G&D/Hoffman the only home of three NTTC Drivers of the Year, joining previous champs Ron Baird (2020-2021) and Kenneth Tolliver (2022-2023).
