JJ Keller, ISEA launch PPE Pain Points study

EHS and safety professionals can anonymously share their experiences with buying personal protective equipment and managing its use now through Sept. 8.

J.J. Keller and the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) recently launched a study to evaluate the day-to-day experiences of safety professionals in PPE program development, purchasing, and training, and how they go about ensuring proper PPE use to keep employees safe.

The PPE Pain Points survey is available now at the study website. The survey is open through Sept. 8 and those responding to the survey may remain anonymous, the company said.

“We believe the most actionable insights for greater workplace safety come from listening to safety professionals and others responsible for the day-to-day activities of PPE programs, purchasing, training, and oversight,” Adrienne Hartman, J.J. Keller executive vice president of marketing, said in a news release. “Their experiences can help identify the barriers to safety.

“And the role of the J.J. Keller Center for Market Insights is to share those insights across the industry in ways that inform and drive real improvement.”

This is the fifth year of the PPE Pain Points Study conducted by the J.J. Keller Center for Market Insights, and the third year ISEA has collaborated with J.J. Keller on the research effort. A final report will be shared with the industry through the media and other channels, the company said.

“Each year, we look forward to seeing what this research reveals about how PPE programs are working in the real world,” said Cam Mackey, ISEA president and CEO. “It is essential that our industry hears directly from the people selecting, purchasing, and managing PPE every day.

“Their perspectives help us identify persistent gaps, understand how needs are changing, and focus innovation and industry resources where they can have the greatest impact on worker protection.”
