Chalk it up: TXTA crowns Chalk Mountain safest fleet
Chalk Mountain Services of Texas is still the safest fleet operator in the Lone Star State.
The Texas Trucking Association recently named the Fort Worth-based oilfield hauler the grand champion of its annual Truck Safety Contest for the fourth time in five years during a Safety and Maintenance Awards Luncheon held during the association’s 2026 Annual Conference in San Antonio.
Chalk Mountain won in 2022, 2023, 2025, and again this year. Groendyke Transport was the 2024 TXTA Truck Safety Contest grand champion. The contest recognizes TXTA member fleets with the lowest overall accident frequency rates, celebrating commitment to safety through proactive policies and a culture of professionalism on the road.
“The individuals and organizations recognized at TXTA’s Annual Safety and Maintenance Luncheon represent the very best of the trucking industry,” TXTA President and CEO John D. Esparza said in a news release. “Their commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence helps strengthen our industry and protect everyone who shares the road. We are honored to recognize these outstanding leaders for the example they set every day.”
Chalk Mountain also placed first in the Local Over 10 Million category.
Additionally, SWTO, the private fuel hauler for 7-Eleven, took first in the Local 1-5 Million category, and Gulfmark Energy finished first in Local 5–10 Million.
