The Alabama Trucking Association recently recognized Action Resources and J&M Tank Lines for operating safely in 2022 during the association’s annual Fleet Safety Awards Banquet held in Pelham, Alabama.
Action Resources, which is headquartered in Birmingham, captured first place in the Hazardous Materials division, and J&M, also headquartered in Birmingham, took first in the Tank Truck division. The awards acknowledge the efforts of ATA members, including fleet and safety managers, service techs, and shop managers, in ensuring the safety and well-being of their drivers and other key personnel in the industry.
“Recognizing outstanding drivers and companies encourages others to strive for the same level of excellence,” Tim Frazier, ATA vice president of safety and compliance, said in a news release. “These awards are a valuable opportunity for the trucking industry to come together, share best practices, and celebrate the best of the best our industry has to offer. This helps to ensure that drivers and companies are operating safely and efficiently, which has a greater effect on the industry in terms of industry professionalism and public relations.”
ATA award winners are selected based on accident frequency for all miles traveled in the state of Alabama during the previous calendar year. Ben Dunn, director of safety; Chandler Nelson, safety manager; and Monica Stamper, regional safety manager, accepted the prestigious award on J&M’s behalf.
“We want to thank our drivers and the J&M team that supports them for making this possible and always making safety a No. 1 priority,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Action Resources also secured a Safety Improvement Award for improving its safety rating over the previous year.
“This award is such an honor for the whole family at Action Resources as we strive to make safety our No. 1 priority,” the company said in a Facebook post. “Thank you to ATA for this award, and thank you to the entire Resources team for making this happen by keeping safety as the focus of everything we say and do.”
