Performance Proppants LLC, Shreveport LA, announced that it has reached its name plate capacity of 4,000 tons per day of frac sand output at its Hat Creek facility. At this rate, the company will produce approximately 1.5 million tons per year from the Hat Creek facility.
In addition, the company announced that it has begun construction of a 3.2 million ton per year facility at River Ridge. Once River Ridge is operational in the first quarter of 2019, Performance Proppants will be able to produce a total of approximately 4.7 million tons per year of frac sand across multiple grades.
Performance Proppants' President, Bill Bowdon, said: “Our team has worked very hard to get the Hat Creek facility to full capacity. We are very pleased with the outcome at Hat Creek and with the addition of River Ridge, are looking forward to becoming the leading provider of regional sand in the Ark-La-Tex.”
Permitting and engineering has been taking place at the River Ridge deposit for the last 4 months. The River Ridge deposit consists of 40-70 and 100 Mesh fine grade sand, which are in high demand in the Haynesville and Cotton Valley trends. The Haynesville Shale has seen an abrupt change in completion design where regional sands have replaced northern white sands in recent months in turn lowering well costs for drillers in the play.
“The River Ridge deposit allows our company the operational flexibility to produce our products from two locations while also doubling production capacity. It also gives us a strong presence in the 40-70 and 30-70 market. There is approximately 70 million tons of 30-70 and 40-70 material at River Ridge,” Bowdon said.
Performance Proppants LLC is a privately-owned sand mining company that was formed in 2016 and is headquartered in Shreveport LA. The company is currently capable of producing 1.5 million tons of sand per year with 105 million tons of estimated reserves.
