On July 16, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) will co-host a Webinar on the costs and benefits of onboard safety systems.
The Webinar marks the fifth in a series of ATRI-FMCSA co-hosted industry Webinars designed to present FMCSA’s latest research findings and provide peer-to-peer industry insights on onboard safety systems. It will begin at 1:00 pm Eastern/10:00 am Pacific Times and end at 2:30 pm Eastern/11:30 am Pacific Times.
Highlighted in the July 16 event will be the practical cost/benefit outcomes identified in recent FMCSA/ATRI research on collision warning systems, lane departure warning systems, and roll stability control systems. In addition to the analyses, the Webinar will feature commentary and real-world experiences from Andrew Boyle, Boyle Transportation executive vice-president, and Bryan Cook, FedEx Freight senior technical advisor.
The onboard safety systems research, generated using actual carrier and insurance data, can provide important insight into the net impacts that onboard technologies play in reducing certain crash types.
