Retired U.S. Navy Adm. William H. McRaven will share personal insights into leadership and risk management Oct. 4 in Houston

The International Liquid Terminals Association recently revealed retired U.S Navy Adm. William H. McRaven as the opening keynote speaker for its 2021 Annual Operating Conference, set for Oct. 4-5 at the Marriott Marquis in Houston.

McRaven, a four-star admiral in the Navy, also served as chancellor of the University of Texas system.

In his ILTA presentation, McRaven will share personal insights into leadership and risk management that attendees will not want to miss. His experience in these areas comes from his time commanding special operations forces at every level, eventually taking charge of the U.S. Special Operations Command.
A recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy, McRaven advised Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and other U.S. leaders on defense issues.

McRaven has been recognized for his leadership many times, including in 2011, when he was the first runner-up for TIME Magazine’s “Person of the Year.” McRaven’s book, Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World, based on his 2014 UT commencement speech, has received worldwide attention.

ILTA said it will announce more keynotes and other special conference elements in the months leading up the conference.
