TransWood grows with third pickup in 4 years

Sept. 21, 2023
Nebraska-based carrier adds Sinclair Trucking assets after purchasing Jensen Transport in 2021 and Kane Transport in 2019

TransWood recently acquired certain assets from Sinclair Trucking Company in a deal expected to close this month.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Sinclair Trucking manages the delivery of petroleum products and fuels, and provides logistics support, for retail stations in six markets: Sinclair and Casper, Wyoming; Salt Lake City, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; Denver, Colorado; and Kansas City, Kansas.

“This acquisition allows us to expand our footprint and geography with a major key customer,” Brian Wood, president of TransWood, said in a news release. “In addition to their fleet, Sinclair Trucking has highly skilled drivers, mechanics, and management personnel that we believe will be a great addition of knowledge and experience to service the customer base in the safest manner, employing better-than-industry best practices.

“We are currently working with Sinclair Trucking to transition personnel to our organization.”

TransWood, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, is a family-owned bulk hauler founded in 1928.

The Sinclair asset acquisition is the carrier’s third pickup in the last four years. It purchased Mankota, Minnesota-based Jensen Transport in 2021, and Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota-based Kane Transport in 2019.
