The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) is growing again.

Only four months after completing the acquisition of Ohio-based K-Limited Carrier, the group’s KAG Logistics division reports it has acquired American PetroLog.

The Lafayette, La.-based, third-party logistics firm provides multi-modal distribution services to the petrochemical industry. American PetroLog made Inc. Magazine’s list of the nation’s 5,000 fastest-growing private companies each of the last two years, reaching No. 544 in 2020 with three-year revenue growth of 849%. The company, which was founded in 2015 by president and CEO Jeff Colonna and Robert Kellner, was busy expanding transloading services when Bulk Transporter highlighted its rapid growth in December 2020.

American PetroLog offers a variety of logistics, transportation, storage, and transloading services for commodities such as water treatment chemicals, biofuels, lube oil, wax, missile fuel, rocket propellant, oilfield chemicals, alcohol, and glycol. Colonna said the company handled 80 million gallons of biofuel in 2020, and he projected volume to exceed 100 million gallons last year.

As part of the transaction, American PetroLog’s team of logistics professionals, including Colonna, will joining KAG Logistics, the companies said.

“We are excited about the opportunities this partnership with KAG Logistics will provide our team and our customers,” Colonna said. “The timing is also significant with many shippers seeking to secure reliable capacity after the supply chain disruption faced by many over the last two years. By joining KAG Logistics, we are even better positioned to meet the unique needs of our customers in the liquid bulk/petrochemical space going forward.”
