Canadian bulk hauler serving oilfield, petrochemical industries furthers push into U.S. with addition of 24,000-sq.-ft. industrial facility in Texas

Canadian bulk hauler Allen’s Transport recently completed the purchase of a 24,000-square-foot industrial facility in San Angelo, Texas, as part of its push into the United States, according to multiple reports.

The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce did not respond to email requests for information but said in a May 24 release that Allen’s, headquartered in Leduc, Alberta, Canada, is committed to a “multi-million-dollar investment” in San Angelo, and seeks to continue its success in the U.S. as a logistics and supply chain provider to multiple industries, including oilfield, petrochemical, mining, pulp and paper, industrial, refinery, and generator stations.

The company’s website indicates Allen Fandrick founded Allen’s in 1991.

“We provide the equipment for both chemical and acid hauling, complete tank truck services, refined products, waste hauling, flat deck hauling, bed trucks, gravel hauling, hot shots, dust control, and complete tank farm rentals,” the company says on its website.

The San Angelo facility, located on 10 acres at 1182 Gas Plant Road, will serve as Allen’s U.S. headquarters, reports suggest. The facility features seven high bays, repair and maintenance areas, equipment cleaning, and operations offices.

“Allen’s Transport acquiring the Gas Plant Road property adds to our position as a city with strong ties as a trucking transportation hub,” San Angelo Mayor Brenda Gunter said in the release. “It solidifies our city as well positioned to support the needs of the oil and gas industry.

“As Mayor, I am proud to welcome Allen’s Transport to Texas and the San Angelo business community.”

Allen’s says it will hire approximately 20 full-time employees. Chadd Brown was named San Angelo operations manager.

“This important industrial recruit transaction started in 2019, as a combined effort of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Department and the City of San Angelo Development Corporation,” added Michael Looney, VP of economic development for the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, in a sanangelolive.com report. “(Allen’s) is developing a strong business model in West Texas and selected San Angelo as their U.S. headquarters.
