Premier Bulk Systems, a Heniff company based in Canada, is expanding its chemical transportation network into the Quebec market through a partnership with KIK Carrier that includes opening a terminal in Boucherville.
The new operation will do business under the Premier banner, the companies said.
“This transaction enhances our customers’ ability to leverage the resources and services of our organizations across the North American liquid chemical supply chain,” said Kevin Berry, president and CEO of Premier Bulk. “Premier has been actively seeking terminalization in the Quebec market for some time now, and with the partnership of Karl (Fillion) and his group, we feel strongly that we’ll be able to grow market concentration and be able to better service our customers.
“Quebec has a very strong and reliable chemical network that requires capacity. With the structured background that Premier offers, we will be able to effectively grow our service offering quickly and efficiently.”
The network expansion also will grow Heniff’s overall fleet of approximately 2,000 tractors and 5,000 trailers. Combined, Heniff and Premier operate more than 100 bulk chemical terminals, tank cleaning facilities, rail-to-tanker transloading sites, ISO transfer and storage, and maintenance locations in the U.S. and Canada.
Heniff appointed KIK’s Fillion as the new regional manager for Premier in Quebec.
“Premier Bulk Systems and Heniff Transportation Systems are very reputable chemical bulk carriers with strong integration core values,” Fillion said. “Their infrastructure and service capabilities will allow us to build on their foundations and continue to expand our service offerings in Quebec and beyond. We have known Kevin Berry and his team for years. We started as friendly competitors and have evolved into true partners in service.
“We look forward to building our relationship on the same core values as Heniff and Premier.”
