Hendrickson is commemorating the 100th anniversary of its patented walking beam suspension design. Originally introduced in 1926 by founder Magnus Hendrickson, the equalizing beam architecture remains in continuous use for severe-duty vocational fleets today.

While the RT suspension stays closest to the original 1926 design, modern variations such as Haulmaax EX and Ultimaax integrate elastomer and progressive spring technologies. These advancements support on- and off-highway applications, delivering necessary traction and load control where trucks carry weight across uneven terrain.

“After 100 years, the walking beam no longer represents a single fixed design but an engineering foundation that continues to be adapted to new materials, powertrain options, and operating demands,” the company said in a press release.
