The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) recently published a draft of its new training document A Guide to Developing A Hazardous Materials Training Program that was prepared under a partnership with the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (DGAC).

Additional input came from the Dangerous Goods Symposium for Instructors and the hazmat community.

"This was a very successful partnership for DGAC resulting in a comprehensive guide covering the training requirements in the hazardous materials regulations (HMR), types of training required, recordkeeping requirements, identification of employees that need training, training options, and other information," DGAC stated.

PHMSA is seeking comments on the draft by May 13, 2009.

The draft document can be found at online in PHMSA's HM Pubs Review Web page. Comments can be submitted on the site.
