Embry-Riddle University is granting access to its test facilities to Turbine Truck Engines Inc (TTE), DeLand Fl, to help commercialize a 540-horsepower version of a detonation cycle gas turbine engine for drive shaft applications.

TTE said the laboratory has expertise in gas turbine engines and will collaborate with TTE in the project. The testing is a necessary phase in the final development of the engine as it approaches the production phase. The engine is designed for use with many fuels, such as gasoline, diesel, propane, natural gas, hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, or liquified petroleum gas.
