NEW ORLEANS—Trimble will soon roll out Trimble TMS, the company’s first modular, cloud-native transportation management system.

The transportation technology company introduced its new AI-powered TMS, which is designed to command the operations lifecycle from order to cash, this week at the 2025 Trimble Insight Tech Conference. By embedding AI across the TMS—from grading incoming tenders and selecting the right freight to forecasting network load balance up to seven days out—the system empowers customers to automate manual processes, accelerate strategic decision-making, and amplify their teams’ productivity, Trimble reported.

The modern solution will integrate with Trimble’s existing TMS software, leveraging AI and machine learning to automate complex workflows and provide predictive insights. A beta version of the end-to-end technology is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2026, the company said. Additionally, Trimble TMS Order and Capacity modules, which can be implemented individually with Trimble’s existing TMS solutions, are available now for a pre-release, trial evaluation period for existing Trimble TMW.Suite TMS and Trimble Innovative TMS truckload SaaS carrier customers.

“Our customers are facing unprecedented demands, and our goal with the next-gen, cloud-native TMS for the AI age is to give them a decisive competitive advantage,” Michael Kornhauser, Trimble sector vice president for transportation and logistics, said in a news release. “We developed this solution to work with our existing TMS solutions, ensuring a smooth, modular transition that protects their current investments while future-proofing their operations.

“Trimble TMS enables our customers to take targeted action, freeing up their teams to focus on more complex, value-added work and truly ‘level up’ their business.”

Trimble TMS empowers a wide range of users and job functions with AI features—from frontline customer service representatives to leadership—enabling enterprise fleets to operate with improved agility and efficiency at scale.

The solution will feature seven modules, each with embedded AI agents and workflows, to streamline the entire transportation operations cycle, from initial order acceptance and AI-assisted load building to optimized planning that intelligently matches shipments with the best available drivers. It also manages fleet readiness and provides live tracking and visibility, using driver data to generate accurate ETAs. Modules include Order, Capacity, Supply:Demand, Status, Back Office, and Control Center.

Trimble TMS also automates key back-office processes such as contracts, ratings, and settlements while delivering high-level KPIs and metrics for managers to assess business health and performance. The solution centralizes reporting for administrative, financial and analytical functions and provides a single source of truth for data, from managing user setup to integrations.
