A newly released AI-powered mobile solution from EBE Technologies is designed to eliminate the costly shipper claims that occur when tank truck fleets miss critical load documentation.
EBE’s Adaptive Capture tool verifies driver-submitted photos and documents against specific shipper requirements in under 60 seconds, the East Moline, Illinois-based company reported. By automatically flagging missing or incorrect evidence—such as trailer seals, scale tickets, and washout records—before a driver ever leaves a customer’s site, the tool bridges the gap between field execution and back-office billing. EBE designed the system to streamline the complex, multi-step evidence requirements inherent to bulk liquid transport operations.
“There’s a lot that goes into a tank truck pickup or delivery, and much of it depends on the driver checking and documenting the right things,” Scott Nunnari, EBE senior solutions engineer, told Bulk Transporter. “That could be making sure product is going into the correct tank, capturing stick readings, documenting equipment conditions, or having the proper washout records. Adaptive Capture checks the photos and documents required for that load and flags missing or incorrect information while the driver is still on-site. It gives carriers a better record of what happened and a chance to address issues before the truck moves on.”
Verifying requirements in real time
The new technology evaluates driver-submitted images against specific shipper requirements on a per-load basis, EBE explained. While traditional document imaging workflows often leave fleets waiting for back-office personnel to review submissions, EBE’s solution uses artificial intelligence to process the data and verify compliance in less than 60 seconds.
If a document is complete and accurate, it is automatically linked to the shipment and routed to the appropriate transportation management system (TMS), shipper portal, or stakeholder email. If a requirement is missing, illegible, or incorrect, the system immediately prompts the driver to retake the photo or correct the issue before leaving the customer’s site.
