THE NATIONAL Tank Truck Carriers spouse program begins Sunday, May 22 with a meet-and-greet reception and light refreshments at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. The reception runs from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The spouse program continues on Monday, May 22 with a tour of sites in historic Annapolis, Maryland's state capital. Lunch will be at the Officer's Club at the US Naval Academy.

Spouses and guests will have the opportunity to tour the Maryland State House, which is the oldest in continuous legislative use in the United States. Construction started in 1772, and the Maryland legislature first met there in 1779. It is topped by the largest wooden dome built without nails in the country.

For a short time, Annapolis served as the US capital. It was in the Maryland State House that George Washington famously resigned his commission before the Continental Congress on December 23, 1783.

The US Naval academy was established in 1845 on what is now a 338-acre complex in Annapolis to train America's naval officers. Spouses and guests will see the Naval Academy grounds at their best during Commissioning Week.

The academy is located just northeast of the city center. It features a visitors' center and museum, as well as the crypt of American Revolutionary hero John Paul Jones and the popular Class of 1951 Gallery of Ships.
