Mack Trucks Inc, Lehigh Valley PA, will again sponsor the Driving Skills Safety Challenge during the World of Concrete show February 3-5 in Las Vegas NV.
The competition runs from 10 am to 4 pm each day and Mack will also hold a reception from 3 pm to 5 pm each day for contestants. The competition is open to any driver at least 18 years of age with a valid commercial driver license (CDL) who completes an application form, shows proof of operator training, and is registered for the show.
This year’s event will include individual and team competitions (two operators per team). Contestants will choose one MACK Granite model mixer to operate through a closed course set up to simulate an actual job site.
Operators must complete a pre-operation safety check and successfully navigate the skills course. Each individual will have one attempt. Scoring will be based on accuracy and adherence to safety procedures. Specific scoring rules will be provided at the event. Complete rules for the competition can be found at macktrucks.com
First-, second-, and third-place winners will be announced at 4 pm on each day of the competition during an awards ceremony. Mack will give away more than $10,000 in prizes during the three-day competition. In addition to trophies, the following prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the individual, as well as to each operator in the top three two-person teams:
- First Place, $500 gift certificate, a GPS navigation display, and sunglasses;
- Second Place, $300 gift certificate and a Mack Citizen Eco-Drive watch'
- Third Place, $100 gift certificate and a Mack chrome Bulldog.
All contestants will receive a Mack hat, money clip, and duffel bag.
