Running a company efficiently with the help of the latest technology available was the message from speakers at the May 8 session of the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) annual conference.

David Mook of TMW Systems, George Grossardt of Schneider Bulk and Bill Wolfe and Bill Harvey of Elemica told the audience that new applications are available to enhance communication between carriers, drivers, shippers, and other essential aspects of transportation operations.

Mook noted, as an example, programs that address driver hours-of-service monitoring that can produce data that optimize stricter enforcement by management. Grossardt, Wolfe, and Harvey talked about electronic communications between shipper and carrier that streamline and enhance their logistics relationship with a common hub provided by Elemica as a third party.

Full coverage of these presentations and others spotlighted at the NTTC meeting May 7-9 in Las Vegas will be presented in the July issue of Bulk Transporter.
