Carbon Express’ John Bowlby named NJMTA Safety Professional of the Year

June 28, 2016

John Bowlby, Carbon Express safety director, was named Safety Professional of the Year by the New Jersey Motor Truck Association (NJMTA) at the organization’s annual Awards dinner June 11.

This is the second major safety award for Bowlby this year. In April, he was also named Safety Professional of the Year by the National Tank Truck Association (NTTC).

Under Bowlby’s safety leadership and guidance Carbon Express has had a driver named as an America’s Road Team Captain by the American Trucking Association (ATA). Carbon has also had three drivers named as New Jersey Motor Truck Association Driver of the Year in three consecutive years since 2014. Carbon Express drivers also earned awards in both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Truck Driving Championships.

Bowlby helped lead Carbon Express to a number of prestigious awards including two consecutive NJMTA Outstanding Achievement in Highway Safety Awards and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) Award for Environmental Quality.

Most recently Carbon Express was selected by the NTTC as the winner of the prestigious NTTC Outstanding Safety Performance Award. The Award is based on a measurement of both the Carrier’s Auto Safety as well as their Personal Safety Results. A major factor in Carbon winning this award is that Carbon drivers achieved the extraordinary feat of having zero DOT recordable accidents during 2015.
