ConversionU, the training division of Conversion Interactive Agency, and Veterans in Trucking have opened registration for the first annual Hiring Veterans Summit.
The event is scheduled for Feb. 2-4, 2022, at the Renaissance Arts Hotel in New Orleans, La.
“With the current driver recruiting and retention challenges facing our industry today, hiring veterans is a critical piece to the puzzle for many fleets to have success,” said Kelley Walkup, president and CEO of Conversion Interactive Agency. “American heroes are highly sought after in the trucking industry. Their dedication, determination, and tenacity make for a high-quality truck driver.”
The 2022 Hiring Veterans Summit schedule includes general sessions and workshops from veterans, industry experts, and those who know and understand the challenges of recruiting and retaining America’s heroes. During the keynote session, former Navy Seal and author, Chad Williams, will take attendees through his journey, the importance of the military in his life, and how important hiring Veterans is for the trucking industry.
“Creating connections is one of the most important parts of recruiting military drivers,” said Roger Fair, president of Veterans in Trucking. “This event will be unlike anything the trucking industry has ever seen. By hearing the stories from American veterans and connecting with likeminded trucking industry experts, carriers will bring tangible ideas back to their organizations to prioritize hiring the men and women who have served our country.”
Other topics on the agenda for the 2022 event include sessions detailing how recruiters can create a successful veterans hiring program, utilizing social and digital media to recruit military drivers, positioning messaging for success, and a live chat room to collaborate and brainstorm with military experts. “Each session will provide attendees with achievable strategies and ideas to successfully implement or improve their company’s efforts to hire Veterans,” Walkup added.
