CSX recently recognized 55 bulk shippers for outstanding performance in the safe transportation of hazardous materials with its 32nd annual Chemical Safety Excellence Awards.
The awards honor CSX customers who shipped at least 600 carloads of hazardous materials on the CSX network in 2025 without a controllable hazardous materials release, the company reported. “Our customers are essential partners in keeping the economy moving,” Maryclare Kenney, CSX senior vice president and chief commercial officer, said in a news release. “These companies earned this recognition through exceptional safety performance, reflecting a shared commitment to protecting employees and communities across our network.”
CSX also recognized customers achieving milestone anniversaries without a controllable hazardous materials release:
- 25 years: Kemira Water Solutions
- 15 years: CHS
- Five years: Olin ChlorAlkali and Evonik Degussa Corporation
“Safety is fundamental to how we operate at CSX,” said Mike Cory, CSX executive vice president and chief operating officer. “These customers exemplify that commitment, helping make our entire network more reliable and efficient.”
