When Harold C Groendyke founded Groendyke Transport Inc in 1932, he did it with two things in mind: provide dependable transportation services that deliver superior value to customers, and provide those services in the safest manner possible. Today those principles are still evident throughout the company.
Those core principles were evident on July 15, when Tito Campos was inducted into an elite organization—Groendyke Transport’s President’s Club. Campos was honored for achieving four million miles without a preventable accident. That’s roughly 160 trips around, the world or 16 trips to the moon.
Every year Groendyke Transport celebrates newly-inducted members of the President’s Club. Drivers with the tank truck carrier who have safely driven one million miles or 10 consecutive years without a preventable accident are inducted into the President’s Club. Since Groendyke Transport’s President’s Club program began, more than 340 drivers have become members.
“Tito Campos represents the very best of our Company,” said Greg Hodgen, president of Groendyke Transport. “The pride he has for his job is evident in everything he does, and we could not be prouder of him. From all of us at Groendyke Transport, we would like to congratulate Tito on his honor, and thank him for his exemplary service.”
Campos is only the second driver at Groendyke Transport to reach the four-million-safe-miles mark, but several drivers are trying to follow in his footsteps. Currently, 104 drivers are President’s Club members. There are 37 drivers who have gained President’s Club status with 10 years of safe driving miles. Fifty members have driven one million safe miles, 12 drivers are two-million-mile honorees, and three drivers have obtained three-million-safe-driving miles.
