Michigan-based liquid bulk carrier earns safety and security, sustainability, and logistics services honors during virtual ceremony

Dow recently recognized Quick-Way with three prestigious awards during a virtual ceremony.

The Ludington, Mich.-based liquid bulk carrier received the North America Gold Road Carrier Safety/Security Award, the S4tar Award for sustainability, and the Logistics Service Provider of the Year for Small Volume for the 2020-21 fiscal year.

General manager Melissa Alvarado and safety and recruiting manager Will Dunn accepted the awards on Quick-Way’s behalf.

Company management credited Quick-Way employees for their accomplishments.

“Safety and service are at the forefront of everything we do,” Alvarado said. “We must be constantly adapting to serve our customers according to their changing needs. The awards are meaningful to us because they are confirmation that we are on the right track.”

Dow used the same criteria for all carriers to make their award determinations. The structure for Dow’s North America Road Carrier Safety Award includes mileage, shipment count, and incident history, based on Dow-arranged shipments only. The Gold award means there were no serious, moderate, or minor carrier-caused transportation incidents.

Quick-Way had zero for all three categories.

The S4TAR award is presented to logistics providers and value chain partners who deliver excellent results and enable their advancement in the four categories of safety, services, sustainability, and social responsibility.

“As a Responsible Care member company, this award is a meaningful achievement toward the company’s goals of a more environmentally friendly operation,” Quick-Way said. “As a small carrier, being recognized in the technology-driven service metrics, such as real-time tracking through partner provider FourKites, is remarkable.”

Quick-Way was identified as a FourKites premier carrier for the last five quarters due to its early adoption of service-supporting software and the efforts of its dispatch team, which includes Amanda Adair, Randall Conway, and Matthew Carter.

Quick-Way has been serving the Great Lakes and Midwest markets for 30 years. Owner William Dunn founded the business on the principles of safety and integrity, and these values continue to drive the company to provide excellent service to its customers, and to be an employer of choice for its drivers and staff.
