Eagle Transport’s Ronnie McCoy recently was named the 2020 Safety Professional of the Year by the North Carolina Trucking Association.
McCoy is the field safety manager/CDS at Eagle, where he’s worked for more than 20 years.
The NCTA Safety Professional of the Year Award is presented to a person who is entrusted with the duties and responsibilities of safety, compliance, and training for their company. The award is intended to honor an individual, who in the opinion of their peers, is outstanding in their activities and accomplishments in transportation accident prevention in North Carolina.
McCoy previously helped Eagle secure NCTA’s 2019 Industrial Safety Award, which recognizes trucking companies with the best ratio of hours worked relative to time lost due to industrial accidents in different size categories.
Eagle Transport, headquartered in Rocky Mount, N.C., transports petroleum products, chemicals, and liquid natural gas from 23 terminals located throughout the eastern United States.
