Diesel’s national average retail price held at $3.067 a gallon, the fifth straight week it has been at least $3 a gallon, according to US Department of Energy information.

Diesel had dipped 0.6 cent a week ago after gaining 12.2 cents in three previous increases. That decline was just the second in seven weeks.

The price of trucking’s main fuel is now 25.9 cents more expensive than the same week in 2009.

Regional prices were mixed, with the East Coast, Gulf Coast, and West Coast down less than a penny a gallon. The Midwest and Rocky Mountain region were higher.
