Schneider National Bulk Carriers, Green Bay WI, has been awarded the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care Management System Certification, according to Schneider information.

“The Responsible Care Management System aligns well with Schneider National’s core values: safety first and always, and integrity in every action,” said Joe Kizaur, director of loss prevention for Schneider Bulk. “We adopted the Responsible Care program to demonstrate our sincere commitment to our associates, customers, and the public. This certification is a testament to the hard work of everyone on our team to ensure that our customers’ products are delivered safely and securely.”

The carrier received final certification in March 2007 for its Responsible Care Management System. The certification is the result of a year-long effort to ensure that Schneider's health, safety, security, and environmental practices are in compliance with the program, the company said.

Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s global voluntary initiative under which companies work together to continuously improve their health, safety, and environmental performance, as well as to communicate about their products and processes. Schneider joined the program in 1995 as a Responsible Care partner.
