Amid times of economic uncertainty, Dupré Logistics’ Energy Distribution Services group has announced a bold financial move: a 3% to 6% pay increase for its professional drivers.

“This raise was something we did not expect to happen with the way the economy is,” said Marcus Moore, a 10-year veteran at Dupré Logistics’ Shreveport LA terminal. “To do this for the drivers truly shows how much Dupré treasures its employees.”

Dupré pays its drivers by the hour—a rarity in the industry it serves. The wage increase is a response to the ever-increasing responsibilities associated with the job. Hourly pay positively affects drivers’ safety and pays drivers for all of the time they work, unlike mileage or percentage of load pay, while also allowing for safe driver capacity.

“The decision to enact this pay increase made sense,” said Jim Butler, director of operations, Energy Distribution Services. “We value our team highly and feel this pay increase will help us retain current team members and attract new drivers.”
