The American Chemistry Council (ACC) recently recognized Dupre Logistics, Lafayette LA, as a certified partner of its Responsible Care (RC) initiative, according to Dupre information.
To gain certification in the program, Dupre Logistics had to undergo an extensive audit of its processes and safety program while committing to supporting the ACC guiding principles. The Responsible Care certification was created as a response to public concerns about the manufacture and distribution of chemicals by having a third party certify that best practices are employed throughout a company.
"We are pleased to be recognized for our commitment to transporting chemicals safely," Al LaCombe, safety director, said. "The Dupre Logistics team is committed to safe service and this recognition reinforces that our operating and safety processes are world class."
Dupre said the audit process performed by Midland Engineering Ltd for certification included corporate and site visits to ensure that Dupre was committed to the guiding principles of the initiative.
The commitment to Responsible Care includes making continuous progress toward the vision of no accidents, injuries or harm to the environment, and publicly reporting Dupre’s global health, safety, and environmental performance. The initiative also dictates that Dupre and other members lead in ethical ways that benefit society, the economy, and the environment while adhering to 10 guiding principles and the ACC seven management practices codes.
