Dupré Logistics has joined the recently formed Alliance for Driver Safety and Security, a 501(c) corporation headquartered in Washington DC. The primary purpose of the alliance is to advocate for legislation and policies that will improve the safety and security of people who work in the commercial truck freight industry, as well as the motoring public. Corporate membership in the alliance is comprised of trucking and logistics companies, highway safety organizations, industry associations, law enforcement groups, and other entities that support alliance objectives.
“We have consistently worked through industry associations to pass legislation that makes our highways safer. This alliance focuses on that objective, and we are excited to become a member,” said Reggie Dupré, chief executive officer of Dupré Logistics. “The alliance recently announced its support of Sen Mark Pryor’s(D-AR) bill, which mandates the use of electronic onboard computers for all Class 7 and 8 trucks. This is something Dupré has utilized for over six years and has helped improve our driver compliance and safety.”
