CSX TRANSFLO terminals in Baltimore and Cleveland recently received performance awards from energy industry customers Shell Chemicals and HollyFrontier Corporation.
Shell presented its Transloading Terminal of the Year Award to the Baltimore facility operated by TRANSFLO at Locust Point for its overall high score in safety, near-miss reporting, marine berthing/turnaround times, railcar turnaround (loading/offloading times), and truck loading times.
“You have a great team in Baltimore, and they deserve recognition for all of the hard work they’ve done for Shell Chemicals,” said Nate Poullard, contract manager for terminals and land logistics. “The Transloading Terminal of the Year is a very competitive category with the award going to a different facility each of the last four years.”
In Ohio, HollyFrontier, an independent oil refiner, awarded TRANSFLO’s Cleveland East terminal the company’s Terminal Excellence Award for superior 2019 performance.
HollyFrontier selects the winner from among its 15-plus third-party transfer sites based on service and compliance with HollyFrontier’s workflow. The transload terminals are assessed on timely communication between the terminal, carrier and Holly’s customer service team. The Cleveland East terminal was cited for excellence in providing accurate paperwork, achieving zero environmental incidents and maintaining appropriate product temperature, which is challenging during winter months.
The terminal also maintained overall excellent customer communication throughout the year.
