Canadian carrier Andy Transport recently acquired JDW International and JMS Warehousing, two Ontario-based companies specializing in asset-based transportation and industrial warehousing services, respectively.

The acquisitions combine industrial storage and cross-border infrastructure along a corridor that plays a key role in the movement of industrial and bulk materials between Ontario and the U.S. Midwest, the company reported. The pickups include a fleet of more than 60 trucks, over 200,000 sq. ft. of indoor industrial warehouse space, and 9 acres of outdoor storage across four facilities, including customs-bonded warehousing near the Blue Water Bridge corridor, one of Canada’s cross-border trade gateways.

“This acquisition represents an important step in our long-term growth strategy of diversification and disciplined expansion,” Andreea Crisan, Andy president and CEO, said in a news release. “By strengthening our capabilities across transportation, warehousing, and integrated logistics, we continue to build a scalable platform focused on delivering long-term value and resilient supply chain solutions that go far beyond commoditized and transactional freight services.”

Andy, based in Montreal, Québec, Canada, operates over 400 trucks and 800 trailers, including flatbeds, dry vans, and refrigerated trailers. The carrier also handles bulk commodities such as minerals, sand, stones, raw materials, and packaged goods, including floor-loaded shipments and supersacks (big bags) that move through Andy’s warehousing and cross-border network.

The company’s capabilities include equipment such as tilting (tipping) systems used to handle and position bulk materials efficiently, and dumpers. Andy also supports aspects of liquid bulk logistics, including the transportation of ISO tank containers and tank trailers. “While these acquisitions are focused more broadly on infrastructure and storage, the integration of JDW International and JMS Warehousing strengthens how we move and stage all bulk materials across the Quebec, Ontario, and U.S. Midwest corridor,” Keren Dudescu-Besner, Andy director of marketing and communications, explained to Bulk Transporter.

JDW and JMS will continue to operate under their existing leadership teams, ensuring continuity for employees and customers by maintaining their established presence in the region while benefiting from Andy’s broader infrastructure, network, and resources, the company added.

“Access to strategically located storage and infrastructure influences how materials are staged, positioned, and moved across the border, particularly for supply chains tied to industrial and energy-related sectors,” Dudescu-Besner said.
