Gilmer, Texas-based bulk transporter Custom recently recognized eight drivers for surpassing 1 million accident-free miles.
One of those elite drivers is Darrin Guillory, who was one of eight finalists for the title of National Tank Truck Carriers 2024-25 Professional Tank Truck Driver of the Year, an honor that eventually went to Grammer Logistics’ Mark Schroyer. Guillory’s inspirational story includes at one point intervening in a domestic violence incident that cost him three fingers on his right hand.
“It’s an honor to work with these professionals,” Cec Davis, Custom director of operations, told Bulk Transporter. “Each of them represents the very best in our industry, performing safely and responsibly day in and day out all across the United States and Canada.”
Custom’s newest group of drivers with at least 1 million safe miles also includes James Beautte (Vinita, Oklahoma terminal), Steve Carter (Gilmer), Howard Herman (Vinita), Mitchell Munden (Philadelphia terminal), Brian Ridenhour (Vinita), John Seigrist (Vinita), and Mark Stewart (Gilmer).

Custom is an award-winning, full-service carrier with over-the-road, regional, and dedicated truck fleets that include dry-bulk pneumatic and liquid food grade tankers serving the 48 contiguous states, Canada, and Mexico. Custom also offers warehousing and transloading services.
The company, formerly known as Custom Commodities, last year rebranded to better encompass the expanded capabilities of the combined operation, which includes its newly established transload facility and depot in Longview, Texas. The unified business units include Custom Transport, Custom Warehousing, Custom Multimodal, Custom Leasing, and Custom Brokerage.
“We are very proud of our heritage in the trucking industry and remain committed to providing our customers with the very best service to meet their specific needs,” Custom owner David L. Stevenson said in August 2024. “The company has grown dramatically, however, and now provides a full range of logistics and other solutions, so we need a name that reflects all of our capabilities and the white glove service we deliver.
“Our mission has always been ‘To provide our customers solutions specific to their business needs.’ To enhance our team culture, we also want to have everyone under one corporate umbrella.
“The new name and logo capture these commitments.”
