Chemical supply chain powerhouse Quantix recently completed a major financial restructuring with lenders to fortify its capital structure and usher in a new era of corporate leadership.
The transaction, led by Antares Capital as agent, provides additional capital to support ongoing investments across the company’s network of specialized liquid and dry bulk transportation, ISO services, and distribution operations, the company reported. The move establishes a financial foundation to sustain the rapid expansion Quantix has engineered over the past several years and sets up its next strategic chapter.
“Our customers depend on us to manage complex chemical supply chains safely and reliably every day,” Quantix CEO Nate Gesse said in a news release. “The support of our lender-investors, together with the experience of our new board of directors, strengthens our ability to invest in the business, serve our customers, and execute our long-term strategy.”
The move marks another leadership transition for The Woodlands, Texas-based organization, with Gesse stepping into the CEO role previously held by John Labrie, who was appointed to the top post in August 2024. The newly appointed board will be guided by Chairman Lawrence Hirsh, who noted that incoming members bring deep experience across finance, transportation, logistics, and transformation.
“Quantix has established a strong position in the chemical supply chain industry, supported by a talented leadership team and a comprehensive portfolio of specialized services,” Hirsh stated. “With a strong financial foundation and a clear focus on operational excellence, we see significant opportunities to build on that position, deepen customer relationships, and support the company’s long-term growth.”
New direction after rapid growth
This restructuring marks a pivotal transition for Quantix, shifting control of the company’s strategic direction to a group of lender-investors. The move follows a period of highly aggressive growth under the ownership of private-equity firm Wind Point Partners, which acquired the business (then A&R Logistics) in 2019 and helped double its size early in its tenure.
Under Wind Point’s backing, Quantix completed 11 acquisitions that rapidly diversified its chemical transportation and logistics capabilities. Notable pick-ups included the April 2024 acquisition of Houston-based waste hauler Space City Services, which added 200 tankers and a rental fleet of 800 roll-off boxes to the company’s Gulf Coast footprint. Only weeks prior, Quantix acquired its 10th target, Pennsylvania-based CLX Logistics—a business managing $500 million in annual freight that was later rebranded as Quantix Managed Solutions to provide chemical-specific benchmarking, consulting, and capacity solutions.
Expanding the physical network
Beyond acquisitions, Quantix has steadily expanded its physical footprint and capacity through new relationships and facility investments.
In June 2025, the company opened a state-of-the-art tank cleaning facility and full-service maintenance shop in Port Allen, Louisiana, adding the regional capacity to wash more than 30 dry bulk and liquid tankers daily. The company also forged strategic partnerships in early 2026 with tank truck carriers MC Tank Lines and Leahy Transportation, aiming to strengthen its transportation network and deliver more flexible, scalable solutions to customers across North America.
Combined, these moves have built Quantix into a massive platform with a network of more than 70 locations. The company now boasts more than $2 billion in logistics spend, approximately 5,400 owned assets, over 40 distribution centers and rail terminals, and 3,300 partner-carrier relationships.
“Our priorities remain clear,” Gesse concluded.
“We focus on safety, dependable service, and integrated solutions that help chemical manufacturers keep their operations moving.”
