Vigillo LLC announced the availability of its Vigillo PSP Converter. The downloadable application enables motor carriers to convert Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) reports into Vigillo CSA Scorecards for meaningful and valuable analysis of driver candidates
“For effective pre-employment screening in a CSA world, it is essential to be able to translate the data in a PSP report into a useful CSA analysis,” said Steve Bryan, chief executive officer of Vigillo. “FMCSA's PSP service does not provide CSA scores, points, or performance data. Carriers utilizing PSP reports in their hiring process spend a lot of time trying to decipher the reports and manually calculating the CSA points for a driver applicant. The Vigillo PSP Converter accomplishes that quickly and effectively.”
The Vigillo PSP Converter takes the FMCSA PSP report on inspections, violations, and crashes attributed to each driver and applies the CSA Driver Safety Measurement System (DSMS) methodology. The converter reports back instantly with full details. It generates a scorecard on each driver that includes CSA points by BASIC (Behavioral Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories), and Average CSA Points per Inspection (APPI), as well as a safety event timeline that graphically displays an applicant's roadside performance history.
With the Vigillo PSP Converter, carriers can process batches of PSP reports and rank all drivers in each batch using CSA points. Carriers can also apply their own custom weighting to each individual BASIC to assist in reconciling an applicant's CSA scores to the carrier's hiring guidelines.
The Vigillo PSP Converter is in full compliance with FMCSA's privacy terms. The converter resides on a motor carrier's internal computer only, and no personal information on drivers, violations, inspection, or crash data is ever made available to Vigillo or any other third party.
The Vigillo PSP Converter is offered for an annual license fee with unlimited usage to Vigillo CSA Scorecard subscribers and Affiliate members. Software maintenance, upgrades and enhancements are included in the annual license fee.
