Heil Trailer International is focused on growth by developing talent within the organization while infusing new talent from outside.

Over the past few months, Heil has filled several key positions with a focus on external talent infusion. Rich Strickland joined the organization in November 2010 as vice-president of human resources. He brings more than 20 years of HR leadership experience with United Technologies Corporation and is focused on process improvement and talent development. Also new to Heil is James Means, Rhome TX facility plant manager. He joined Heil after a career with Paccar and brings a focus on lean tools and processes. Ted Bullock, a former Heil Environmental employee, joins the Heil team as corporate controller after a six-year stint with Pathway Polymers.

Heil Tank Services (HTS), Heil’s dealer & service center in Louisville KY, isn’t sitting still, either. Phillip Sullivan brings his 10-plus years of experience to work inside part sales, and Art Garman is the newly appointed Distribution Center manager. Garman brings a logistics background from his 20-year-plus career with the Air Force and with Coca-Cola.

While Heil is focused on external “talent infusion,” the aluminum tank trailer manufacturer has not lost sight of developing and promoting from within. Bill Harris, formerly the corporate business development manager, was recently promoted to director–government sales and business development when incumbent Karl Stabenow retired in March 2011. In another internal promotion, Tim Davis was appointed to the newly created position of director of financial planning and analysis. Davis, a 14-year-plus Heil veteran, will also be involved in business development assisting HTI’s president and chief financial officer in analyzing potential growth platforms and acquisition candidates. HTI added more than 200 employees in 2010, and all indications are that the growth will continue.

HTI will be announcing several key position appointments over the next few months. Those interested in a career with the company should visit www.heiltrailer.com.
