Kenan Advantage Group absorbs equipment leases, employees of long-term strategic customer Koppers Performance Chemicals

The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) recently completed a private fleet conversion with Koppers Performance Chemicals (KPC), a division of Koppers, Inc., which previously was a strategic, long-term customer, KAG reported.

KPC primarily transports wood preservatives and fire-retardant products to treat lumber for residential construction, remodeling, and commercial buildings.

As part of the transaction, KAG welcomed 34 drivers, two technicians, and four administrative/operational employees to the group. KAG also is assuming the equipment leases to KPC’s fleet, the company said. KPC operates primarily out of three plant locations in Millington, Tennessee; Rock Hill, South Carolina; and Hubbell, Michigan.

“KAG has maintained a strong business relationship with the Koppers organization, transporting various products for many years,” KAG stated in a web post. “We are excited for the opportunity to do what we do best—transport essential products—while Koppers focuses on their business of developing world-class wood preservative technology and materials.”
