Family-owned liquid, dry bulk hauler based in Iowa joins Foodliner, Quest Liner under McCoy umbrella

The McCoy Group is expanding its business.

The family-owned, Dubuque IA-based company recently acquired W.W. Transport, a liquid and dry bulk specialist based in Burlington IA.

W.W. Transport, also family owned and operated, has been a fixture in the food-grade hauling industry for nearly 30 years. The company started in 1991 with only two trucks and regional hauling routes. It has grown to nearly 500 units, with operations stretching across the United States from the East Coast to Ogden UT.

Beyond its involvement in the liquid transport arena, W.W. also engages in cement and aggregate hauling.

“Over the years, the McCoy Group has viewed W.W. Transport as a good and healthy competitor,” said Greg McCoy, president and CEO of the McCoy Group. “Their dedication to providing excellent customer service, as well as their culture of honesty, quality, integrity and innovation, mirrors the values we are committed to here at the McCoy Group.

“We are excited by the possibilities this new chapter brings for our customers, teammates, W.W. Transport and the entire McCoy Group family.”

The McCoy Group is the parent company to six subsidiaries, including transportation companies Foodliner and Quest Liner. Wholly owned and operated by the McCoy family, the McCoy Group’s portfolio of companies also includes Truck Country and Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer, one of the largest Freightliner dealership groups in the U.S. today, as well as McCoy Construction & Forestry, which includes seven John Deere Construction and Forestry dealerships serving the upper Midwest.

Ensuring a seamless transition, both organizations will be reaching out to their customer base and operating partners to inform them of the resulting timeline for integration, the company said.
