Prestigious annual awards set gold standard in tank truck industry, assist association in its Washington DC advocacy efforts

The National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) now is accepting applications for the 2019 North American Safety Contest.

The annual award recognizes tank truck operations in North America with the best safety programs and records each year. These awards, which represent the gold standard for safety in the tank truck industry, are part of NTTC’s ongoing mission to encourage and promote safety and success for all its carrier and fleet members.

The winners of the North American Safety Contest’s Sutherland and Harvison Divisions will be revealed during NTTC’s 75th Anniversary Annual Conference, set for May 3-5 at the The Omni Shoreham in Washington DC. Division winners will claim the North American Safety Champion Trophy, sponsored by Heil Trailer International.

“We encourage all carrier and fleet members to apply,” the association said. “This contest allows us to gather a great deal of safety data about the state of the industry, which NTTC has leveraged in advocacy efforts to show lawmakers and regulators that we are one of the safest segments in the trucking industry.”

The North American Safety Contest is conducted in two stages. Stage 1 evaluates Recordable Accident Frequency based on recordable accidents per million miles. Go to form.jotform.com/193506249022151 to complete the form for this stage.

The Grand Award winners by mileage class in Stage 1 then compete in Stage 2 for NTTC’s North American Safety Champion in one of two divisions: The Harvison Division and the Sutherland Division.

Members must complete the form by Feb 21 to be eligible for consideration.

“Best of luck to your companies,” NTTC said. “We are proud that our members represent the pinnacle of safety within a challenging industry.”
