McLeod Software customer Pottle’s Transportation recently helped deliver wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery in honor of fallen military veterans.

More than 500,000 wreaths were expected to be laid Dec 14 at cemeteries and other locations across the country for a national event organized by Wreaths Across America, a non-profit organization whose mission is to “Remember, Honor and Teach.”

Pottle’s, located in Bangor ME, has hauled wreaths to the Arlington cemetery since 2005.

“We’re grateful to be a part of the convoy to Arlington again this year to bring these wreaths to the headstones of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice,” said Chelsea Pottle Demmons, vice president of Pottle’s Transportation. “Having companies like McLeod Software sponsor the decals for our trailer allows us to spread the powerful message of Wreaths Across America all the way from Columbia Falls, Maine to Arlington National Cemetery.”

Local participation took place at Currie-Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover AL, where more than 500 veteran gravesites were honored with a wreath laying ceremony from donations and volunteers through McLeod.

The national event was founded by the Worcester Wreath Company and made possible through the generosity of transportation companies across America who voluntarily give of their time and vehicles for delivery of wreaths to cemeteries throughout the nation. Thousands of volunteers organize local ceremonies, raise funds, and participate in events in support of Wreaths Across America, which receives no government funding.
