Volvo Trucks North America will officially reveal its next-generation Volvo VNX vocational and heavy-haul truck during a digital livestream event at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 14.

Engineered for demanding applications—including heavy haul, specialized transport, and tank truck operations—the redesigned VNX represents the manufacturer’s most direct expansion into the North American vocational sector to date. According to Volvo, the new truck leverages engineering expertise from its global vocational lineup alongside insights from Volvo Construction Equipment, which has manufactured heavy machinery in the U.S. for more than 50 years.

“As the only OEM in North America that builds both construction equipment and construction trucks, we bring a unique understanding of how work gets done on the jobsite,” eter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America, said in a news release. “Vocational work happens in some of the toughest, most unpredictable environments a driver will ever face, which is exactly why safety is always built into everything we do.”

The release comes as demand for Class 8 vocational vehicles continues to grow, driven by ongoing federal infrastructure spending and expanding energy megaprojects. In addition to enhanced structural durability, the reveal will detail new active and passive safety features tailored for jobsite hazards and tight site navigation.
