Kuriyama of America Inc. recently introduced its new line of biofuel-friendly hose products, engineered specifically to resist the damaging effects of new alternative fuels.
Highlighting the line are the Tigerflex Tigerdrop fuel gravity drop hoses and Tigervapor vapor recovery hoses. The hoses use specially developed polyurethane compounds and reinforced construction designed to resist the added strain caused by new alternative fuel blends such as E-85 and biodiesel.
Newly developed polyurethane compounds used in the Tigerflex Tigerdrop and Tigervapor hoses have excellent resistance to the new ethanol and biofuel blends, as well as to traditional gasoline and diesel fuels. Because the hoses are rated up to E-98, they are designed for tank and railcar loading and unloading use, as well as for various in-plant applications.
Kuriyama is also developing a new Alfagomma brand rubber biofuel-friendly hose able to handle the demands of the new alternative fuels. This T629 series will be available for release in summer 2008.
