Tank Trailer Cleaning Inc in East St Louis MO launched a major overhaul of its wash rack during 2007. The project started in July and was scheduled to finish before the end of the year.
”We made a significant investment to modernize this facility, which is 25 years old,” says Charlie Stock, vice-president of Tank Trailer Cleaning. “This was the most extensive renovation we’ve ever done, and we believe the improvements we made will enable this operation to continue growing for at least the next 25 years. We’re now able to clean a greater number of tank trailers. We can do it faster and more efficiently.”
Improvements included replacement of the wash bay floors, some of which dated back to the 1960s. Mezzanines and staircases were removed and replaced with galvanized steel structures. Wash bay lighting was enhanced for greater worker efficiency and safety. Wash systems were upgraded.
A full report on the renovations will be published in Bulk Transporter in March 2008.
